Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) work under the supervision of a nurse and provide assistance to patients with daily living tasks. They work closely with patients and are responsible for basic care services such as bathing, grooming and feeding patients, assisting nurses with medical equipment, and checking patient vital signs. CNAs give patients important social and emotional support and provide vital information on patient conditions to nurses. Upon successful completion, graduates will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to take the Texas Skills Examination and the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam.

Aug 8    Counting Our Blessings Festival - Community Celebration for the Body of Christ Community Clinic

























The Body of Christ Community Clinic (BOCCC) will hold a special community event at Yettie Polk Park in Belton on August 8th from Noon to 8:00 PM. The event, dubbed “Counting Our Blessings, A Community Celebration for the Body of Christ Community Clinic,” is a celebration of the fifth anniversary of the BOCCC and an effort to thank the communities it serves for their support.

The festival is free and open to the public. Highlighting the festival will be three bands which will perform. The bands, scheduled to appear, are Pride & Joy, Tercia and Fireside.

An estimated 20 to 30 vendors will be on hand to offer different products. The BOCCC will sell hot dogs, chips and water as a fundraiser. There will also be other food vendors present.

A special “Kid’s Zone” will be set up. The BOCCC is sponsored by 14 area churches of various denominations from Temple, Belton and Salado. The different supporting churches will set up various events for kids from Noon to 6:00 PM.

About the BOCCC: It is a medical and dental ministry which opened its doors in 2010 to provide care to the underserved populations who live in the Belton or Salado ISD. It is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization and is sponsored by 14 area churches of various Christian denominations. Since opening the clinic has had over 6,700 patient visits and has grown from three hours a week to fifteen hours a week. It is staffed primarily by volunteers.

Variety’s Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children will be hosting its Trailblazer Day Camp for children of all abilities August 10th and 11th

In this two-day camp, campers with and without special needs will soak up the sunshine at our beautiful 120 acre retreat nestled in Texas Hill Country in Killeen, TX.  Kids will be able to zip line, swim, watch movies at our Theater in the Woods, create delicious culinary projects, play miniature golf, shoot at our archery range , and so much more! 

For just $80, your camper will enjoy two full days of activities from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
