DESCRIPTION:For a few hours on Saturday\, March 29\, you can escape the 21st Century and relax with your family and friends on a trip through American railroading's romantic past! See the wildflowers and the grandeur of the Texas Hill Country\, as the Hill Country Flyer climbs Summit Pass between Cedar Park and Burnet. The train will be pulled by a 1960 Alco diesel-electric locomotive since the 1916 Southern Pacific (#786) is currently being restored. Traveling guests will leave the Temple Santa Fe Depot at 8:00 am traveling by motor coach to Cedar Park. We will board the Museum?s chartered passenger car at 10 am to begin the round-trip between Cedar Park and Burnet. During a two hour layover in Burnet\, there will be time for lunch and shopping. After returning to Cedar Park at 4:30 p.m.\, the motor coach will bring guests back to the Santa Fe Depot in Temple\, arriving at approximately 6:00 pm.
