DESCRIPTION:Belton\, Texas  The Bell County Symphonic Band will present their first fall concert on Tuesday\, October 6\, at 7:30 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church in Belton.   The concert theme\, Leaves That Descend to No Drum\, is from Reed Whittemore's work The Feel of Rock (1982).  The concert program will include Americans We by Henry Fillmore\, Leaves That Descend to No Drum by John Prescott\, Linden Lea by Ralph Vaugh Williams\, Overture for Winds by Charles Carter\, Slane arranged by Douglas Wagner\, and First Suite in E flat for Military Band by Gustav Holst.  This concert is free and open to the general public The Bell County Symphonic Band is comprised of community members from throughout Bell County and the surrounding area and is organized and directed by James Whitis\, director of Instrumental Activities at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.    The ensemble is one of many that operate through the Conservatory of Music at UMHB.  The mission of the group is to provide a performance ensemble for those instrumentalists that have a lifelong love of making music\, in particular band music\, and wanted to actively be involved in the process.  The members come from all walks of life.  There are university professors and staff\, public school teachers\, university students\, high school students\, doctors\, retirees and other community members.
