The 8th annual Day for Women presented by the Temple Daily Telegram will be on Saturday, February 18 at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic & Convention Center. This exciting event sponsored by Precious Memories, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Doctors Express, and H-E-B is from 10 am – 4:30 pm.
The event will feature a catered luncheon from 12 pm – 1 pm featuring Kristina Kuzmic. An engaging, hysterical, hypnotic and altogether wildly entertaining cook, Kristina has taken her passion for cooking, not to mention her vibrant personality, to the masses. As the winner of Oprah’s “Win Your OWN Show” on the Oprah Winfrey Network and now host of “The Ambush Cook” on the OWN Network, Kristina has surpassed her wildest dreams. Kristina will discuss her background—from her bittersweet childhood in war torn Croatia, emigration to the U.S., and resulting depression and isolation she experienced, to her discovery of a new lifestyle based on kindness and generosity which have led her to where she is today. Kristina will hold an autograph signing after the luncheon.
In the afternoon, PROM is in the air. Georgio's Bridal & Formalwear will put on a style show featuring this year’s hottest prom fashions.
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, January 18. Tickets will be available at the Temple Daily Telegram (10 South 3rd Street), online at www.tdtnews.com, and at Precious Memories (1404 South 31st Street). Tickets to attend the luncheon are $20 and include admission to all exhibits. General admission is $10. A student discount ($3 off) will be offered on general admission tickets at the door only.
Door prizes will be given away throughout the event.
